The Boldheart Foundation honors the memory of Brett Abram Engel, who unexpectedly passed away at 48 on May 4th, 2023. Brett excelled in academics and music at Williamsport Area High School, graduating in 1993. He pursued his degree in Industrial Engineering at Penn State University. Brett made his home in Newport News, VA, where he had a successful career in engineering at Newport News Shipbuilding and Booz Allen.
Brett was a devoted family man who led by example for his son and daughter. Smart and fun-loving, he forged strong relationships and kept people connected. Genuine, reliable, and competitive, Brett enjoyed everything from games and sports to poker. His friends remained an integral part of his life, regardless of distance.
Despite his many wonderful qualities, Brett faced struggles with his mental health shortly before his passing. To honor his memory, we aim to raise awareness about mental health.
